Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day Everyone!

Sunday, May 12, 2019

I hope you are enjoying your day!

I am just popping in to tell you about our People in Nature workshop that we had at the EMS Building in Gilbert Plains on May 4th and May 5th, 2019.
We were fortunate to have Valerie Wilson from Winnipeg travel to us for this workshop. Valerie is a talented fibre artist who make gorgeous wall hanging both portrait and landscape.
We worked on our projects during the day on Saturday and Sunday, while Valerie treated us to her trunk show on Saturday evening.  We were so happy to have Donalda cook up delicious meals for us.  Eleanor joined in on the pleasure by baking us home made pies and cabbage rolls. We were also treated to Cathy's home made buns. Gail (I) organized this workshop and want to say how happy I am that all went well and everyone seemed to enjoy our weekend together.

I hope to post photos of our completed projects but until then, take a look at what I have so far...…….

Until next time folks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It is Actually Here Blog Update

As you can see it has been some time since I have spent any time updating this blog.  Sincerely sorry about that!  Life just seemed to get in my way over the past while. We have some very talented quilters in our quilting club.  Here is some eye candy to enjoy!

From the bench...…….

Here are some comfort quilts that we made for our some of our members.
This pattern is the propeller block.

Here is a couple of fun quilts we made as comfort quilts within the Gilbert Plains community.

This quilt was created by Cathy.  It is a beauty!

This wall hanging was made by Gail for her daughter Heather.

Here is a photo of the quilts that our club made for the Humboldt Broncos. Everyone brought their golds, greens, blacks and whites for this project.  It was an honour to put these together.

Sherry K. never ceases to amaze us with her quilts. Quilt 1 of 2 she brought to show and tell.

Quilt #2 for Sherry K.  Beautiful!

Another wall hanging made by Gail.  This one is also for her daughter Heather.

This quilt features some of Sylvia's handiwork.  Such a talented quilter.

Sherry K. surprises us once again with this original quilt. She sure has the
knack of putting colours together! Thanks for your inspiration Sherry!

Gloria pieced these beautiful placemats.

Debbie tried her hand at making the popular floor mats.  Didn't she do a wonderful job!

This is a rag quilt that was gifted to a young person in the club community.

Debbie made up this cute quilt for one of her little relatives.

Debbie also created this eye catching bargello runner.  Amazing!

This is a lovely scrap quilt. It is a mystery to me who put it together.  Nice job whoever you are!

Sherry K.'s beautiful bird runner.

Here is a photo of Mike receiving his Humboldt quilt that we made for him.
Mike used to play for the Humboldt Broncos in his earlier years.
