May, June and July 2022

I have missed a couple of months, so these pictures may be out of order, and some of them, I can't remember whose they are, so I am just going to post these pictures, and leave it there.

This a Bonnie Hunter quilt that Karen made, called Boxy Bowties.  She said that even with all of those scraps, her scrap pile never went down!

This is also a quilt that Karen made - isn't he cute?

This is a quilt that Karen pieced and will be gifted to one of the Ukrainian families that will be coming to Roblin.

These next few pictures, I can't remember who they belong to anymore, so just to say how lovely they all are, and what a talented group of ladies we have.

APRIL 2022

Here we are again, after missing a couple of sew days, due to our wonderful Manitoba Spring blizzards!

This gorgeous quilt was made by Sherry K., The pattern is one of Highway 10 designs, called Quarter Sections, then Sherry added that wonderful row of appliqued leaves.  It is absolutely stunning.

>This scrappy wonder was made by Karen, and is one of Bonnie Hunter's scrap quilts.  It's just beautiful.

Eunice made this beautiful purple heart quilt.  This photo really doesn't show how pretty this is.  Lovely job.

I made this quilt.  It was a mystery quilt that was hosted by Cindy Hamilton of the Dauphin Crocus Quilter's Guild.  Then, as it wasn't quite wide enough for a bed, I added a border all the way around.

These next three quilt tops were pieced by Velma.   I think we've created a monster, as Velma is new to the quilt world! Now look at her go!

I think this one is called "Carolina Chain".

This one is "Arkansas Crossroads"

This one is "Pinwheels"  Such a lot of 1/2 square triangles!

This last quilt was shown by Donelda.  She did not make this quilt, but is doing the quilting on it.  It is all hand stitched, and is just beautiful. This quilt will be a treasured family heirloom I'm sure.
I

That is it for this month.  See you in May.

MARCH 2022

Well, here it is, almost the end of the month again, so I better get this blog done before we start a new month.

These lovely Christmas place mats were made by Janice.  They are so bright and festive looking.

This is a Wonky Hearts  quilt, made by Sherry K.  It is absolutely gorgeous, and this photo really does not do it justice, because the colours are just so rich looking, It almost has the look of suede.

Another quilt made by Sherry K.  It is called Take 2,  Sherry has such a good eye for colour, and these fabrics really compliment each other.

These last two photos are four more placemats, for our Meals on Wheels Program. They are so bright and cheerful, I'm sure that whoever gets them will be very pleased.

FEBRUARY 2022

Well, just when I thought I knew what I was doing when writing this blog - all of a sudden I don't!  I had to buy a new laptop, and now everything is different, and I am not tech savvy enough to figure out how things work!

Anyway, here goes, and hopefully this will get easier in time - my thanks to my daughter Cheryl, who loaded these pictures for me, otherwise this would not be happening.

I believe this is a comfort quilt that Karen put together from fabric that was donated to the guild.

This is a quilt that Bonnie made, and don't you just love the colours in it?

Debbie made this beauty!  This photo really does not do it justice.

These next photos are finishes from some very talented guild members, and I have to confess that I cannot remember who made them.  My apologies.  What a great way to use up some of your stash!

What a great array of quilted items, and I am very sorry for me lack of memory, I need to do better with this blog, because it could be so much better if I could give credit where credit is due.

January 2022

This beautiful quilt was created by Janice, and I think she said it was a Canadian Quilters pattern. The colours in this photo do not do justice to this quilt.  It is much richer and deeper than is shown here.

This is another one of Janice's creations, from her UFO pile.  Way to go!  This top is from a guild challenge that our group did a few years ago. Every couple of weeks we were given a new leaf block to make, and just look what resulted!  hopefully we will get to see it once it's quilted.

Bonnie made this gorgeous quilt.  I don't remember the name of this pattern, but it is certainly a stunner. The colours are so vibrant.

November 2021

I have to apologize for my procrastination - I have no excuse as to why I waited so long to post these, other than I guess I'm just plain lazy!  Anyway, here goes....

These first three braided lovelies, were made by Rena.  They were Christmas gifts for some very lucky family members.  And I'm sure they were a huge hit!

This beautiful quilt is just stunning, and I can't remember whose it is, but I see Karen's feet underneath, so I'm going to guess that it is hers.

These next two belong to Joan - a gorgeous table runner done in Christmas colours, and a beautiful string quilt.  This is not the first string quilt we have seen from her, and they certainly make an eyecatching quilt.

OCTOBER 2021

We have had both of our October meetings, so I should get busy and post this before I get months behind!

Not a whole lot of show and tell, but some of the group has been producing!

This first picture is of Velmas's Christmas hotpads.  They are gorgeous, and would be a addition to a Christmas dining table.

This next quilt is Velma's also I think -  a Christmas masterpiece! All those pineapple blocks - doesn't this just make you drool!?

These next two quilts are Debbie's. They were shown last month, but they have now been quilted, and both will be gifted to some very lucky people.

This last quit is Karen's.  It is one of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilts, from last year I believe. and I think it is called "Grass Creek". This photo (my fault) does not do it justice. It is a real work of art.

There we have it for another month.

SEPTEMBER 2021

Well, here we are, it's been a year and a half since our last meeting!  And although Covid is still with us, we are all trying to put some normalcy (is that a word?) back into our lives.

We had a lovely meeting, it was so nice to see everyone "in person" again.   Our meeting portion was mainly focused on where we left off in March 2020 and figure out how to move forward again.  So I will leave that to Gail to email the minutes to everyone.

After such a long pause, we had quite a lot of beautiful quilts to share, so here goes

All of these beautiful quilts were made by Debbie, my understanding is that they all will be, or have been gifted to some very lucky family members and friends. I guess we all know what kept her busy over the past eighteen months!

I can't see who is hiding behind this lovely quilt, so I can't remember who this belongs to, but it is stunning. The colours all work so well together - just lovely.

These creations were made by Sherri B., who says she had made other quilts too, but had already given them away.  Aren't quilters a generous bunch!?  These are beautiful Sherri!

I believe this quilt was made by Bonnie.  I think this is called "Quarter Sections" and is one of the Highway Ten patterns.  Gorgeous!

Again, my memory fails me, and I can't see who is hiding behind this "underwater treasure".  It really is lovely, the colours are so soft and soothing.

Karen has been busy also during our months of Covid, this lovely baby quilt is just so cute! Some lucky little person is going to love this.

I made this "Storm at Sea" quilt at a workshop in Dauphin a couple of years ago, and chose to use colours from my stash, rather than purchasing a kit.  This pattern is a lot of fun to do, and there are so many variations to do, that make the designs look so different that you would never know it is the same pattern - the secret is in the colour placement!  A big thankyou to Karen from the Fabric Addict in Lethbridge!

This is another one of Bonnie's (I think) quilts.  I think this is the Bento Box pattern.

And these last few quilts were made by Sherry K. aren't they beautiful? I think she told us that she was trying to reduce her "gray" stash, and just chose to add one other colour to add some interest.  I'm not sure how much she reduced her stash, but she certainly created some lovely work - Sherry's quilts are always so beautiful.

I think that brings us to the end of our Show and Tell - hope you enjoyed it! And hopefully we can keep doing this every couple of weeks now.  So see you then.
